About

Built by people who've actually raked a mound at 6am.

SportsFieldOps is the first product from Blue Collar Jam, Inc., a Delaware C-corp building operations software for industries that run on hard work. We're not a Silicon Valley startup that decided sports turf looked like a good market. We come from the industry.

Frankie Barwell

Founder, SportsFieldOps

I'm not a typical software founder. My background spans IT contracting with companies like Intel and IBM, owning blue-collar businesses, and spending the past several years as a business coach working closely with trade and service businesses on both sides of the Atlantic.

My work with Capitol Sports Fields gave me a clear view of a problem I'd seen in various forms throughout my career. Here was a company doing exceptional work, installing and maintaining natural and synthetic turf fields for baseball, softball, football, soccer, lacrosse, and Little League facilities, serving clients from the Baltimore Ravens to schools, universities, and municipalities across Maryland, and running their operation across a collection of disconnected applications that didn't talk to each other. Proposals in one place, scheduling in another, photos buried in phones, invoicing disconnected from the work actually done in the field.

I've worked in IT. I've owned blue-collar businesses that run on hard work and thin margins. I know what it costs when the systems around a good operation don't hold it together. So when the opportunity came to build something purpose-built for the sports field industry, not adapted from plumbing software and not a generic tool with a sports-turf paint job, I took it.

SportsFieldOps is the first product from Blue Collar Jam, Inc. More will follow. The philosophy is simple: the people who do the hardest work deserve software as good as their craft.

What we believe

We believe trade professionals deserve software as good as their craft. A 25-year veteran of sports turf maintenance shouldn't be fighting with software that was clearly designed for someone else's industry.

We believe in transparent pricing. You'll never see "contact us" gating a price tag. You'll never get surprise per-user fees on a monthly invoice.

We believe in shipping, not promising. Every feature listed on this site is in the product today. We don't sell roadmap items as if they exist. When something is coming, we say so.

Blue Collar Jam

SportsFieldOps is the first product in the Blue Collar Jam family. We're already working on the next vertical-specific operations platforms for industries that share the same operational reality: real-world work, real-world crews, real-world margins.
